Cannes

We took a daytrip by bus to Cannes – it was only 1 euro, each way, for an hour and a half drive! Cannes is another beautiful French Riviera town. Other than nice beaches, shops, and restaurants, there’s not too much there, other than the film festival.

This is the Hotel de Ville, or town hall:

Of course, we had to see the site of the Cannes Film Festival, and some handprints of the stars:

More fancy hotels...

We got caught in a brief hail storm – it was bizarre, since I think it was about 50 degrees out. It ended as quickly as it started, so we continued on our way.

We walked up to the top of Suquet hill with the Chateau de la Castre:

More gorgeous coastal views…

This is Notre Dame de l’Esperance Church, built from 1521 to 1627, which is connected to a clock tower and the fortress walls.

It was a little chilly and rainy, so we called it a day and returned to Nice.
